Summary
The Product Owner will join the Digital Marketing team to lead the charge on ownership of our used vehicle sales products.
The Product Owner is responsible for the management of the priorities of their products. This person would own the vision for their product and would use their written and oral communication and team building skills to successfully grow and evangelize their product. The ideal candidate has had experience in ideating, creating and maintaining technology products. They have historically been the product owner on an Agile team and have successfully used SCRUM to carry out the product vision. This person has experience translating the vision into epics, features and stories, can provide detailed acceptance criteria and work with the team to ensure that each story meets the definition of ready and the definition of done.

• ACT AS THE PROXY FOR THE CUSTOMER: Should stand-up for the customer and make sure that their target market is being heard. This person should have an uncanny ability to put themselves in their customer's shoes.

The Product Owner needs to assert their opinion while allowing others to actively contribute to ultimately create a better product. This person must exude transparency and communicate regularly.

• FOCUSED ON DATA: Know how to get and use data to create a better product. Data can also be used in helping to justify features and functionality developed in their product.
• BUSINESS ORIENTED: Able to make a link between what users do and how the company produces revenue.
• DETAIL AND STRATEGY: Should be able to deal with the detail of a working backlog whilst also being able to set direction and articulate using a strategic road map.

We are expanding our Digital Marketing team and are looking for a Product Owner to own used vehicle sales products - from day-to-day execution to guiding the strategy and long-term view. You’ll be working alongside multiple product lines including Fleet Management, Supply Chain Management, Dedicated Transportation, E-Commerce, Last Mile Solutions, Rental and of course Used Vehicle Sales.
To excel in this role, you need deep experience managing, optimizing and launching enterprise technology products coupled with a collaborative and customer centric mindset. You will work cross-functionally with our marketing teams, sales teams, and internal/external developers all the while enabling talented team members to learn and grow. This role will report to a Senior Product Owner within Digital Marketing.
In this role you will:
• Develop, Launch & Support New Products Across Ryder. The Product Owner will help orchestrate the launch of products and subsequent releases of new features or capabilities for Ryder’s business units. You will help the Product teams collaborate across functions and business units to successfully increase revenue and deliver value to both users and customers
• Become a subject matter specialist on the customer and user: their issues, pains, desires, how they think, how they work, and how they decide to interact with Ryder products. You will translate these needs into epics, features and stories which will ultimately become product deliverables to ensure a positive customer & user-centric experience
• Identify new opportunities and solutions to drive the experience forward and be on top of what’s best in class and what’s up and coming
• Facilitate development team efforts through the SCRUM framework. Such efforts will include enhancements, production support, and new feature development.
• Facilitate outsourced contract development/production team as well as the internal team and oversee key projects
• Collaborate with our technology team on hosting, licensing and budget planning.
• Partner closely with our technology team to identify elegant and efficient technology solutions
• Improve UI/UX by encouraging a growth and optimization mindset among your team to improve performance and customer experience
• Gather requirements through reviewing user stories with the stakeholders in a non-technical manner
• System Architecture: participate in technical design of new and updated functionality with our team, other teams, as well as external companies.
Skills, Abilities, & Experience:
• 4-6 years of experience in product ownership or equivalent
• Bachelor's Degree required in computer science, operations management or related business field.
• 2+ years managing others/leading teams
• Experience working with extended marketing, development and design teams.
• Experience in an Agile and SCRUM environment, working in cross functional teams and writing and estimating user stories.
• Experience in web UX, mobile first responsive and visual design best practices highly desired.
• Experience with E-Commerce ecosystems a big plus
• Background in cloud/SaaS, Azure Sitecore PaaS environment or other IT environments a big plus
• Process-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Top-notch interpersonal, organizational and communication skills coupled with the ability to work cross-functionally in a diverse corporate environment
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously amid ambiguity to meet objectives
• Ability to balance day-to-day tasks with a focus on the strategy and long-term view
• Experience with Microsoft development technologies a plus
• Expertise in backlog management/release management tools, AzureDevOps a plus
• Demonstrated ability for strategic, outside-the-box thinking when it comes to problem solving and removing roadblocks
• Able to demonstrate innovation while successfully tackling challenges in new and creative ways in often-stressful, deadline-intensive environments
• Ability to take the lead on guiding strategy and developing best practices for a product.
