Career Area:Manufacturing & Supply ChainJob Description:If you have the initiative and the right experience, skills and abilities, we have an excellent career accelerating opportunity for you to join our Small Track Type Tractor (STTT) Fabrications and Fabrications Logistics Team as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager where you will guide and develop a team of Planning and Manufacturing Engineers to achieve safety goals, capacity requirements, product cost and quality commitments.The Building Construction Products division at Caterpillar is a global organization responsible for design, manufacture and support Caterpillar's line of small, versatile construction equipment and Work Tools (attachments).  In our Athens, GA facility we manufacture Cat® Mini Hydraulic Excavators (MHE) and Small Track-Type Tractors (STTT). Among other responsibilities, as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you can expect to:Provide Technical Expertise and Support for current STTT Fabrications processes, including manual and robotic welding as well as part assembly.Provide Technical Expertise and Support for all Machining Processes within the Fabrications department.Own both short-term and long-term Capital Planning for STTT Fabrications and the machining processes within the Fabrications departmentManage Capital projects to achieve goals related to RFI approval, spend targets, and expense budgets for smaller projects.Ensure that the 5-year capital plan positions the STTT Fabrications and Machining teams to achieve long-term PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity and Cost) Provide technical Planning and Support for the Logistics operations in the Fabrications buildingProvide technical expertise for new and ongoing manufacturing engineering projects and processes.Turn long-term vision into well-defined, manageable strategies for the engineering team.  This includes capital planning and manufacturing process development, including new technologies and creative solutions. The successful candidate must bring (Basic Qualification):A bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or universityAt least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.At least 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering.At least 8 years’ experience evaluating process and technical solutions.At least 8 years’ project management experience.Significant experience with Microsoft Office and SAPTop candidates will also bring (Desired Qualifications - not required):Work experience across multiple departments across the facility (i.e. Assembly, Fabrications, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.)Work experience with machining processes and tooling selectionSignificant Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma.Relocation assistance is available for this positionISE is not available for this assignment.How We Support You (Employee Benefits)Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
