We are currently seeking a Machinist Helper for our Statham, GA facility.   This position requires familiarity with raw material inventory, proper application of tooling and the ability to read and understand blueprints. This is a first shift position that reports to the Manufacturing Manager. Job responsibilities include the following:
Who we are looking for.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have manufacturing experience.
• Read and interpret engineering prints, manufacturing manuals and verbal and written instructions to plan machine set up, correct adjustments and selection.
• Able to read tape measure, operate vertical and horizontal band saws, sanders and power tools.
• Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation and housekeeping requirements.
• Identify and choose the proper material from raw material inventory for each job order. Able to cut raw material from larger piece of necessary raw material.
• Deburr all necessary parts before machining operation to meet required specifications and tolerances.
• Familiarity with hand tools and machine operation.
• Ability to stay organized and ensure that the work area is clean, safe and orderly.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and well as be punctual and dependable.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to occasionally pick up and deliver parts.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to perform basic math including working with and converting between fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to do the essential functions of the job which includes a full range of physical motion including bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs.
