Description:
The Manager, Security has the primary responsibility of supervising physical security and protecting company assets and property for the applicable location/site of the company. The incumbent is the responsible company interface to the site's contract security guard force. Additionally, this role is the interface to security at all off-site locations in the respective state the company/site is based in. The incumbent will develop, manage, and implement security programs, procedures, and systems to continuously improve security and safety at the operating site, and to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Corporate requirements, and expectations.
In addition, this role handles event security, executive protection, and security coordination issues when they arise and monitors issues for corrective or protective action.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manages programs to maintain and continuously improve physical security for all applicable sites/locations.
• Programs include, but are not limited to, security monitoring and surveillance, access control systems and procedures, executive security, loss prevention, event security, investigations, and other programs as needed.
• Programs and procedures shall ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and Corporate requirements and strategies aligned with Regional expectations.
• Develops awareness programs for the site regarding Safety & Security to improve the culture on-site.
• Manages all aspects of the contract security guard force, including interface with the contractor's on-site management, budgeting, contract oversight and delegation of additional contractor duties as required.
• Works with contract security management to develop procedures for security guard operations on site, and periodically review adherence to procedures.
• Provides security support and coordination to all departments, including Human Resources, for sensitive issues as required.
• Ensures procedures are in place to provide security support to emergency response organizations when needed.
• Supports site engineering projects by reviewing plans, recommending appropriate security measures, and ensuring implementation.
• Provides logistics support for company-sponsored special events and manages security aspects of special events.
• Manages activities, which are related yet varied in nature and objective.
• Works on problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors.
• This position may have 0-5 BI direct reports.
• Ensures proper operation of the contract security guard force which may include on-site managers who oversee a guard force of up to 40.
• Implements operational policies and practices in area managed.
• Develops and establishes operational objectives within area managed, and delegates assignments.
• If applicable this role will be part of the site's crisis management team.
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree and five (5) years’ experience in Security Management.
OR
• Minimum ten (10 +) years’ experience plus professional training in the corporate security field.
• Experience in law enforcement or intelligence is a plus.
• Prior experience in a supervisory role in the security field is preferable.
• Experience managing a third-party security vendor is a plus.
• Knowledge of security technologies including surveillance systems and access control systems.
• Good investigative skills to handle and address incidents.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills are necessary.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management is required.
• Ability to plan for events and take appropriate action when required by circumstances.
• Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements related to security, for example Department of Homeland Security, is required.
• Advanced understanding of corporate security, law enforcement and/or intelligence techniques.
• Organizational and leadership skills as well as the ability to manage by influence.
• Business and technical competence in the Security field and must be able to decide appropriate measures of access control and monitoring systems to be applied to any given situation that requires protection.
• Ability to manage many contracted staff, including scheduling and assignment of staff to specialized posts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Decision making and a focus on customer service are required.
• Ability to plan (forecast) for future projects and company needs is important.
• Ability to coordinate Security activities in a crisis.
• Ability to collaborate regionally and network globally.
