The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading all operations related to manufacturing, materials, facilities, distribution, engineering and maintenance to ensure smooth, continuous, efficient and controlled manufacture of products in support of the business' forecasts and inventory goals.
The position owns the production of biomaterial components in a Value Stream to fulfill global planning schedules, within specified quality and safety standards, and develops and provides direction to assigned direct staff. This position works closely with Engineering, Quality and line management to achieve business goals. This position manages department activities in the pursuit of organizational goals and leads year on year improvements within the Business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leads the Value Stream results in the areas of safety, quality, cost and schedule; and initiates changes to address non-conformities.
• Maintains an environment of innovative continuous improvement, focusing on quality, cost reduction, process development and capacity.
• Manages supervisory and operations personnel, including developing people at all levels to grow within and beyond their current roles.
• Coordinates and plans with Franchise Operations Development in terms of new products or improvements to the products & production lines.
• Reviews and follows all regulatory, operational and personnel policies and procedures (safety, environmental, quality, employee relations), recommending changes as appropriate
Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A degree in an engineering or technical field is helpful
• Generally requires (8-10) years related experience.
• 5 years of proven experience in manufacturing and/or equipment development and/or project management and/or installation and qualification is required.
• 3 years of proven experience leading people as a Facilitator and/or Manager is required
• Strong computer and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.
• Statistical and analytical problem solving.
• Work in a team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.
• Follow and enforce all regulatory requirements and company policies/procedures including but not limited to Quality System Regulations (QSR’s), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Standards of Behavior.
• Ensures safe working conditions and practices in the department.
• Use applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. MES, ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, etc.)
• Support LEAN, Six Sigma, and Manufacturing Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
• Supports Plant Diversity Process
Preferred:
• Experience in the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• A Six Sigma and/or Process Excellence and/or Lean certification is preferred. If not certified, evidence of effective use of the tools.
• Working in a FDA regulated environment is preferred.
