Grapevine Therapy Services-Speech Language Pathologist
This position is an opportunity for you to play an important part in helping Children’s Health make life better for children. As a Speech-Language Pathologist you will work as needed at our Grapevine Specialty Center. Working as part of our interdisciplinary team, you will use your training and skills to provide evidence-based care to patients, educate caregivers, and mentor other therapists.
This is an outstanding opportunity for you as an Occupational Therapist within our Children’s Health Grapevine Therapy Services to play an important part in helping Children’s Health make life better for children. Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll use your training and skills to provide evidence-based care to patients and deliver instruction to patients and their families.
As an Occupational Therapist you will Provide direct Occupational Therapy services to patients in accordance with standards of practice; independently select reliable and valid assessment tools relevant to diagnosis, functional limitation and patient history; demonstrate progression of treatment plan and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report on patient progress through appropriate written documentation including evaluations forms, progress notes, education forms; collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other members of health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning; use unscheduled time to flex to other work areas for patient treatment.
You will also be responsible for providing direct Occupational Therapy evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of function, setting individualized goals and making discharge recommendations.

ABOUT THE JOB:
This job is for PRN assignments only. The incumbent in this position is a staff therapist who participates in the evaluation and treatment of patients based upon current principles and practices of Speech Language Pathology. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Children's Health philosophy, policies, procedures and standards
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct Speech Language Pathology evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of function, setting individualized goals and making discharge recommendations in accordance with standards of practice; provide direct Speech Language Pathology treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions; report of patient progress through appropriate written documentation including evaluation forms, progress notes, education forms; collaborate with physicians, patients, family and other members of the health care team relative to patient treatment and progress as well as other affiliated agencies with regard to effective discharge planning.
* Coordinate and prioritize own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities.
* Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies; attend and participate in departmental meetings, in services, rounds and peer reviews; participate in program development as assigned by Team Leader; participate in continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning continued professional competency.

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 2 years job-related experience preferred
EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* State of Texas Speech Pathology License upon hire required
* Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA 1 year required
* Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS Certification upon hire required
