SUMMARY
The Operations Associate- STL Trade Support requires the knowledge of office management systems and procedures to effectively reconcile trade related activities. The Associate must be proficient with spreadsheets to be able to identify and resolve trade exceptions by settlement date to mitigate risk for the firm. Other responsibilities may be given over a particular job function based on departmental processes and needs which may require daily supervisory review. These may include entering equity and bond orders for branches as well as money managers with emphasis on accuracy and speed to ensure timely execution. The Associate must be able to navigate different platforms including Thomson BETA Systems, Bloomberg and DTCC/RTTM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily reconciliation of various fixed income transactions including, but not limited to, Municipal and Corporate Bonds, CMO’s, Agencies, and UITs.
• Identify trade exceptions and resolve breaks with trading desks and other broker/dealer back offices on a timely basis before settlement date.
• Accurately submit comparison on open trade items by validating correct monies and other terms of the transaction.
• Understand and comply with regulatory reporting requirements such as TRACE and MSRB.
• Learns and assists with Cancel & Rebills and other trade related corrections.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 0-2 years professional business related experience required; 1-3 years business experience preferred.
• Ability to learn general understanding of rules/regulations and Stifel policies that pertain to the department.
• Initiative and self-direction when performing tasks with ability to organize and prioritize effectively in order to meet deadlines.
• Able to handle large workload that varies based on projects and heavy volume periods.
