This position involves heading a team in the Motion Business Area in the Athens, Georgia region, ensuring continuous and efficient production operations in line with plans, procedures, and quality and safety standards and policies. In this role, you will aid in the transformation of parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner, managing resources to meet production targets.
This position reports to Production Manger - Motors
Your responsibilities • Coach employees to achieve stated weekly and long-term goals
• Conduct daily safety and quality warm-ups
• Manage employee performance using both informal and formal feedback techniques, including an annual written performance evaluation
• Insure adherence to company policies, safety and quality standards, and good housekeeping practices
• Maintain good employee relations and complies with employment laws and employment practices
• Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, continuous improvement methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the applicable department
• Understand the production processes and can solve problems in area of responsibility
Your background • High School Diploma / GED and minimum 4 years of experience in related field OR Associates degree minimum 2 years of experience in related field OR Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years or more experience in manufacturing with experience in Assembly, Winding, Machining or Lamination/ Die Cast manufacturing preferred
• Must be able to work any shift and weekends as required
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and quality programs
• Excellent problem-solving skills as demonstrated by team involvement or in day to day plant activities
• Computer proficiency, particularly SAP, MS Excel and Word - preferred
• Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USA
