We are currently looking for a DOT Compliance Specialist I for our Owensboro, KY office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Role will perform various studies for the Manager, Compliance Services. Tracking of compliance schedule for the Compliance Services Dept. These reports will require decision making to determine overall compliance associated with the various studies. Associated with these efforts will be creating talking points, trainings, etc., to help assure Company personnel are meeting the compliance requirements.
The role will manage Management of Change process for Compliance Services by reviewing current procedures against proposed revisions, routing for approvals and updating compliance documents and Portal as required after approval of the revision. The role will create team sites and maintain the Operations and Engineering page of the Portal to ensure that procedures and forms are up to date, documentation is easily accessible and all links work correctly. Update FODS Operations Matrix for Field Use. The role will manage everyday updates to Boardwalk’s site-specific emergency response manuals and verification that valve maps and manuals are correct on the Portal.
The role should be able to review DOT compliance reports for issues and assist area locations for PHMSA audits. This role may be asked to participate in PHMSA audits by pulling necessary data, identifying correct procedures to meet regulation requirements and assist with the on-site inspection documentation. This may require travel to field locations throughout Boardwalk. Included in these audits will be the requirement to identify the appropriate data needed to be provided to the auditor and how to best document the requests of the auditor.
It is expected that this role may be asked to work with new Field administrators and assure they understand proper documentation of various compliance requirements. This may require travel to field locations throughout Boardwalk. This will include creating and delivering training to these individuals. From time to time it will be expected that this role will work with Field administrators to correct deficiencies which may be occurring.
Will provide reports and analysis from Compliance Systems (OMS and Cognos) to Manager, Compliance Services and DOT Compliance Specialists. Typical reports will include monthly reports identifying nearing compliance dates, developing score cards for demonstrating compliance for various locations and issues identified. Provide data analysis on targeted subjects such as valve maintenance, pipeline jurisdiction, inspections, etc.
This role is expected to assist with special studies assigned by the Manager, Compliance Services. This may include mapping out various processes and identification of gaps in processes where errors may occur.
Provide Compliance Support to other Departments and Field Operations. This role performs duties for all Boardwalk assets which use Compliance Services as a primary compliance group.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
• proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Power Point, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro and Maximo (OMS) programs;
• skills in using Microsoft Excel in the area of graphs, pivot tables, creating forms, etc.
• the ability to read, comprehend, and follow company procedures, operations and maintenance manual;
• good interpersonal and communication skills;
• the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Travel 10%
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
• minimum of 1-2 years of experience in pipeline operations;
• skills to upload to Boardwalk Portal
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• 2-4 years of post-secondary education.
