Full Job Description
The Contractor-Behavior Aid/Hotel Supervision-Athens collaborates with the Department of Family and Child Services to provide behavior aid, parent aid and transportation services for foster children and their biological parents.
Many children in foster care become displaced and must reside in hotels while their case managers find them new placement. While in the hotel, in order to properly care for these children, behavior aids are assigned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
IMMEDIATE NEED Contractor-Behavior Aid/Hotel Supervisor-Clark County/Athens
**Specific need for Hotel Supervision for foster children awaiting placement.***
Responsibilities:
• Assist families who are involved with DFCS (Dept. of Family and Children Services) in building parental capacity and/or work towards reunification through parent skills training and linkage to community resources
• Facilitate and supervise visitation between approved parents and children as identified in the case plan
• Provide transportation services for purposes of supervised visitation between approved parents and children as identified in the case plan
• Provide drug screen collections
• Travel to the patient's home to perform a urine, hair, and/or saliva specimen collection as requested by the DFCS Case Manager
• Collaborate with case managers, other contractors and community partners to ensure effective treatment and case collaboration
• Contribute to Georgia HOPE's culture of safety and inclusion by demonstrating a commitment to learning how to engage with issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Services Available based on Education and Experience
Behavior Aid, Parent Aid, Supervised Visit Services Require:
• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field OR high school diploma and five years experience in the human-services field. Human Services degrees which are acceptable: Psychology, Sociology, Counseling (religious counseling is not acceptable) Social Work, Child Development, Community Mental Health, Human Services, Criminal Justice (only with Juvenile experience/DJJ), Education (experience teaching K-12 grade)
Transportation Services Require :
• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field OR high school diploma and 1 year experience in the human-services field. Human Services degrees which are acceptable: Psychology, Sociology, Counseling (religious counseling is not acceptable) Social Work, Child Development, Community Mental Health, Human Services, Criminal Justice (only with Juvenile experience/DJJ), Education (experience teaching K-12 grade)
Drug Screen Services Require:
• High school diploma or GED
In addition the follows skills are required:
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to function as a member for a multi-disciplinary treatment team and work cooperatively with other agency providers
• Ability to conduct oneself professionally and ethically with clients, co-providers and community partners
