contractors to complete property inspections for mortgage companies to determine occupancy status on assets. Inspections are a great way to put some extra money in your wallet while also being an incredibly flexible job. Set your own hours and work at your own pace. Work one day a week or work every day for a few hours. The choice is completely up to you. So how does it work? First, once you onboard, you will choose your
coverage territory. This can be as small or big of an area as you want, though most contractors cover their entire county. From there, you will be assigned orders to complete through an app. Each order comes with between 4 and 7 days to complete. Inspections are very simple, they usually only take a couple of minutes, with you taking between 8-15 photos of an occupied property, or photos of the full interior and exterior of a vacant property. Once you have completed the visual inspection, you will complete a form with questions regarding the property. After you’ve completed the inspection and forms, you will upload the property to me and be done. From start to finish, a typical inspection takes less than five minutes. Why are we doing this? Mortgage companies want to make sure their assets are being taken care of properly. Inspections can be ordered for many reasons, including bankruptcy and refinance, but the most common inspections are delinquent mortgages. The mortgage company wants to be certain the property is being lived in and properly maintained, or take control if the property has been abandoned. That’s where we come in.
Everything can be done through the app we use, InspectorADE. Inside the app, you will get all the instructions for each inspection, as well as the form, and the ability to take photos. The only things you need as an inspector are a smart phone, a car, and master keys, which we will help you obtain. Master keys are not required to start the position.
Compensation is per property, and varies depending on your area. Price per inspection will be discussed during the interview process. You also have the ability to write your mileage, phone, and utilities off on your taxes. Mileage on taxes is a break of $0.56 per mile, so not only could you end up not having to pay taxes at the end of the year, you could get a tax refund.
