What You'll Do
As the Controls System Engineer, you will lead the Control System function at North American IS Sites delivering process safety and reliability through Control Systems improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable acts and regulations. Other duties will include:
• Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.
• Assume Responsible Engineer accountability for conformance to OT Cybersecurity, Functional Safety and Process Control System Company Standards at NA IS Sites
• Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
• Provide control system technical support to NA IS Sites
• Execute minor control system MOC's
• Participate in PHA's
• Ensure NA IS Site control system assets have effective Reliability and Capability Life Plans and maintenance strategies
• Working closely with Maintenance Planners, ensure that preventive & predictive maintenance plans are aligned with equipment maintenance strategies.
• Complete control system equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis techniques
What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of control systems experience in petro-chemical manufacturing, power generation or similar heavy industry environment .
• Familiarity with multiple control systems hardware including PLCs and DCS, such as Rockwell AB, GE Fanuc, ABB Freelance
• Familiarity with engineering documents such as cause-effects and P&ID
• Experienced with control system capital project delivery aspects including preparing BoD, control narrative, functional specification and witnessing FAT/SAT
• Familiarity with control system administration and management including lifecycle obsolescence, ISA18.2 alarm management, ISA101 HMI and IEC62443 series for security
• Familiarity with IEC61511 and functional safety engineer certification is desired but not essential
• Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
