It has created challenging career opportunities throughout the organization.In this role, you’ll manage the monthly close and reporting processes related to revenue, inventory, cost of sales and other operating expenses for GameStop’s US operations. This role reports to the US Controller and will partner extensively within the controllership function as well as with finance, SEC reporting, treasury, tax, marketing, merchandising, and fulfillment & refurbishment operations teams.  You will lead a team of accounting managers and their direct reports.RESPONSIBILITIESCore AccountingLead revenue and inventory accounting functions for GameStop’s US operationsProvide technical accounting expertise in areas of revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory costing & valuation (ASC 330), and cost of salesEvaluate new revenue streams/products for proper revenue recognition under ASC 606Manage monthly close cycle to meet all reporting deadlinesReview monthly and quarterly financial statement analyses, journal entries, and account reconciliation for completeness and accuracyReview 10Q/10K financial statement disclosures pertaining to areas of responsibility for completeness and accuracyMaintain accounting policies, process flows, procedural documentation, and SOX controls documentationMaintain and execute system of SOX controls related to assigned areas accounting, coordinating cross-functionally to ensure end-to-end controls complianceCoordinate with internal & external auditors to support quarterly reviews and year-end auditsRelationships & InfluenceBuild and develop a team of subject matter experts in applicable GAAP and operational accounting best practices through system of coaching, training, motivation, goal setting, and direct review of work productCoordinate across functions within the CAO organization (controllership, SEC reporting, tax, treasury, internal controls, financial systems) to ensure proper knowledge sharing and collaborationCoordinate with finance and business functional leaders to identify and assess accounting impacts of business initiatives. Educate stakeholders on potential impact of decisions.Provide periodic training, guidance, and education to finance and business teams on US GAAP (e.g., revenue recognition) and SOX complianceContinuous ImprovementBuild culture of operational excellence by leading team in developing efficient, effective, and well-controlled accounting processesIdentify, design, document, and implement process improvements to support ongoing operations and transformation initiatives, demonstrating excellent project management skillsLeverage financial systems to automate processes for improved control and speed to closeABOUT YOU10+ years combination of public accounting (Big 4), and accounting roles at a publicly traded company.  History of promotion to positions of increased responsibility.  Experience must include prior work in Inventory and/or Revenue Accounting.Proven ability to build high performing teams (i.e., hire, develop and retain and promote talent)A history of identifying, designing, documenting, and implementing process improvements to support ongoing operations and transformation initiativesProficient in large-scale financial systems, such as SAP and Oracle EPMExperience presenting to and influencing Sr. Leadership (CAO, C-Suite). Experience with corporate boards a plus.Prior experience in Retail/eCommerce or Tech Industry a plusBachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA/Master’s in Accounting or Finance a plus.  CPA required.
