Our client, a leading flexible packaging company, is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer to join their team at their Rocky Mount, VA facility. This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by applying engineering techniques, skills and methods to install, modify, analyze, repair, improve and test tools, engines, machines, or other mechanically functioning equipment.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports
- Maintain, repair electro-mechanical equipment including but not limited to drive systems, position sensors, cabling, and automatic production equipment
- Build mock-ups of production equipment and other specifications
- Understand and apply knowledge of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, electric motors and mechanics to identify, troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, improve, repair and/or install
- Document technical information through descriptive writing, sketches/diagrams, mathematical expression, computation, and graphs
- Perform electrical, mechanical, and fluid measurements by properly selecting tools and test equipment
- Perform electrical/mechanical assembly/disassembly, repair, or calibrate components by properly selecting tools and equipment and following procedures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with Engineering Certificate required
- 2+ years manufacturing engineering experience
- Ability to travel to other film sites as needed
- Knowledge of electrical CAD for the design of electrical panels (CE and UL Standards)
- Experience in the design of industrial automation systems: proved realization of control architectures based on real time Ethernet communication (EtherCat SoE) with controllers and drives
- Experience in electrical engineering in hazardous environments for the presence of potentially explosive vapors (ATEX requirements)
- Knowledge of the development of automation software based on CoDeSys (Beckhoff TwinCAT is a plus). Realization of software libraries for winding and unwinding with tension regulation and automatic splice
- Solid working knowledge and hands on experience with concepts and principles, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience using Maintenance management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Outlook email and calendar
- Experience in sizing electric drives. Knowledge of electrical machines, power electronics system, electrical systems for energy transportation and distribution, electrical measurements
