Position Overview
This is a temporary position that will start as soon as possible and be needed through the month of June and possibly into July. The required hours will range between 25-30 hours per week. The Accounting Specialist uses knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to reconcile general ledger accounts, process accounts payable functions, maintain fixed asset data, and review financial statements. The accounting specialist will apply appropriate procedures, processes, and technique to identify research and resolve accounting issues. The candidate will demonstrate initiative and accountability by willingness to assume additional duties. The candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and written/ verbal communication (listening, confidence, professionalism, persuasion) with individuals across all levels of the organization. Additionally, the candidate will be resourceful and flexible with regard to shifting priorities, new demands and challenges. The candidate be self-motivated with action and results delivery orientation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Consistently delivers outstanding client service; providing premiere client satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
• Acts as a cultural ambassador to internal and external clients, providing a professional, exceptional, and supportive experience with each interaction.
Reconciling
· Post, balance, research and reconcile general ledger accounts related to cash, due from banks, and other various accounts timely and accurately.
· Complete and scan/file reconcilements daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly.
· Monitor outstanding items in reconciliations to ensure they are cleared in a timely manner.
· Submit audit material upon request.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Payables
· A/P daily review of vouchers.
· Manage accurate and timely processing of expense checks on a weekly check run schedule.
· Communicate payment terms and invoice credits with vendors.
· Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and or employees.
· Maintain Vendors in Prologue.
· Document and review payable procedures periodically.
Fixed Assets
· Ensure all assets are tagged.
· Create and dispose of fixed asset in Prologue.
· Maintain CIP account and review and process other clearing accounts related to fixed assets.
· Process G/L and tax depreciation.
· Complete Annual Tangible Tax schedule and month end statement.
· Document and review fixed asset procedures as needed.
· Prepare the Annual Fixed Asset inventory documents for all departments.
· Review and take appropriate actions on inventory exceptions.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of :
· Basic Accounting concepts and principles.
· Principles of banking and finance industry operations.
· Fixed Asset concept and principles.
Skilled in :
· Numerical aptitude and critical thinking sufficient to solve balance discrepancies.
· Analyzing operation processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
· Reviewing and interpreting financial information.
Ability to:
· Competently analyze and prioritize information to make appropriate recommendations.
· Review, understand and interpret financial reports.
· Multi-task while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
· Work closely with other team members, communicate with vendors, fellow employees and officers of the Bank.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field
· Experience with Accounting Software such as Prologue
