Primary Responsibilities:
• Support local and statewide provider network contracting and unit cost management activities by modeling contract structure and rate proposals for hospitals, ancillary facilities, and physician groups
• Analyze coordination of benefits (COB) data to understand current competitive position in order create customized proposals
• Manage unit cost impacts to balance market level targets
• Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
• Influence without authority
• Review work performed by others and recommend improvements

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of analytical experience in financial analysis, health care pricing, network management, health care economics or related discipline
• 3+ years of experience with provider payment methodologies and healthcare products
• 2+ years of experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets and information acquisition tools including experience interpreting modeling results to evaluate financial impact of contract change
• Intermediate level of proficiency in performing financial impact analysis, risk management and data manipulation
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel functions including, but not limited to pivot tables, vlookup, weighted average, and other aggregation or statistical functions
• Must be willing and able to work East coast hours
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with medical coding (CPT, DRG, ICD-9, ICD-10, etc.)
• Knowledge of MS Access

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
