Team/Function OverviewWe are looking for a Sr. Data Analyst. Compliance Technology is evolving a sophisticated next generation Global Surveillance Solution (TotalConduct) which works towards understanding and detecting risky behavior by evaluating the firm's E-Mail and Chat communications. The Models team is the core component of the project that drives the development and maintenance of the risk coverage and detection capabilities in electronic communications. Members of the Models team acquire both the technical as well as the business knowledge required to build and enhance our surveillance models.As part of their work, Models team members work closely with many stake holders including business partners, software developers, data scientists, and business analysts.Role / Position OverviewAs a Models team data analyst, you will work as part of the Models team and engage in different aspects of maintaining and enhancing our modeling capabilities.You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of requirements driven by a prioritized client and operational backlog.As a data analyst you will consistently ensure your work is compliant with required deadlines and quality. Coordinating and collaborating with other members of the teamYour daily work would involve learning our proprietary modeling tools and language and assuming ownership for changing the models and validating these changes.In addition, you would perform various types of queries and analytics in our big data environment to answer clients' questions as well analytics requests made by the different teams.Moreover, you would provide enhanced documentation and structured data evidence that would be used to support the quality of your development work.Responsibilities: Become a subject matter expert within our Communication Surveillance platformMentor and guide other team members Liaise with other development team(s) and QA to coordinate processes and resources. Edit and validate the model's performance to improve its accuracy and efficiency Create queries and reports that would drive decision making and continuous improvements in models Closely interact with engineering, data science, and BI teams Analyze bugs and problems in the models and data using historical data Conduct gap analyses between existing and strategic surveillance platforms dataExperience: 5-8 years experience in a Data Analyst or Data Science role Strong ability working with database queries (Relational or Big Data) Capable of articulating and documenting results & processes for large scale globally distributed projects to a client-facing standard Exceptional attention to detail Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills Desirable: Medium-High scripting abilities to allow for creation and manipulation of datasets and reports Experience with a system that processes large volumes of complex data is a significant advantage Experience working in an Agile delivery environment Experience in a multi-lingual computing environment or foreign languages is advantageousPreferences Advantage for experience with Data processing, Big Data Environment, Global Surveillance platforms, Hive, Vertica, Impala or similar and/or distributed cluster computing e.g., Spark Python or shell scripting experience would be an advantage Knowledge of Linux environments would be an advantage Knowledge of NLP would be an advantageExperience of Regex coding would also be an advantageEducation:Degree in Computer Science, Mathematical subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or other Management and analytical areas, or compatible work experience Job Family Group: TechnologyJob Family:Data ScienceTime Type:Full timeCiti is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Citigroup Inc. and its subsidiaries ("Citi") invite all qualified interested applicants to apply for career opportunities.
