SUMMARY
The Manager, Customer Logistics leads the strategy, management, and ongoing improvements of the Logistics network across the Americas Platform. This leader will manage the operational effectiveness of our Transportation from end to end through the development of a scalable and sustainable network, the creation of solid foundational processes and systems, and working cross functionally to optimize lead-time, cost, and service level.
Responsibilities
Oversee Logistics activities to ensure that customer requirements are consistently satisfied while achieving performance targets related to Transportation lead-times, cost, and service levels. This role is responsible for the strategy and execution of the Transportation activities for commercial distribution while aligning processes and policies with those of functional partners (e.g., Commercial, Operational, Financial and Customer Service).
• Lead the teams (Internal and 3PL Partners) responsible for the daily Transportation operations across multiple manufacturing, warehouses, consignments, and cross-docks.
• Cultivate the relationship with the Managed Transportation 3rd party partner by aligning the strategic vision of the organization, to achieve optimal cost and service level.
• Implement process improvement delivery projects that focus on high service and low-cost dedicated transportation and distribution.
• Continuously assess, measure, and analyze the transportation network and strategy across the business.
• Partner with the Sourcing team to drive the RFPs (request for proposal) across various modes of Transportation, to ensure the Commercial strategy aligns with the expected service and cost levels.
• Manages relationships with Transportation Carriers/3PL's that provide services.
• Develops and implements a routing guide to drive common carrier spend to the right carriers, as well as develops a process to ensure routing guide compliance.
• Provide guidance on import/export Freight Classification, Harmonization Coding, NAFTA certificates of origin and C-TPAT management compliance.
• Identify business requirements, processes, and workflows related to the strategy and advocate viable solutions through utilizing technology applications.
• Champion the design, development, and deployment for the TMS (Transportation Management System) implementation and upgrades.
• Collaborate and partner with IT to fully utilize necessary technology to ensure a successful adaptation by the user community for effectiveness and efficiency.

Computer Skills:
• High proficiency in MS Suite products (specifically Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and mapping software
• Experience in TMS Systems such as BluJay, OTM, SAP, Manhattan, LPaaS or others
• Ability to leverage technology (i.e., ERP and MRP) and best practices
• Knowledge to analyze large and multi-dimensional data sets
• Familiarity with data warehousing and architecture tools, including SQL
• Knowledge of ERP Systems, specifically Microsoft AX is a plus
Essential Functions:

Sell through a consultative and solutions-driven method to provide a comprehensive packaging system to our customers.

Meet or exceed sales goals by gaining new customers and supporting current customers utilizing all Signode products and services.

Develop, document and present the value of One Signode to our direct end users and distribution network.

Build a personal brand that represents the Signode Values.

Collaborate with other team members on account management, projects or department initiatives.

Work closely with our Customer Service, Inside Sales and Regional Sales Management Teams to coordinate sales activity, follow up on quotes, develop and follow up on leads and close sales.

Arrange an effective Time and Territory Management Plan that maximizes sales efficiency and allows the proper balance of sales calls on existing accounts, target accounts, new accounts and business development prospects.

Contribute information to the sales and marketing strategy by sharing customer needs, market opportunities and competitive area information.

Participate in Training & Development opportunities in order to continually improve, upgrade performance, experience career development and advancement.
Required Experience
• 10+ years of experience in Transportation (IML, FTL, LTL, Air, Ocean, Parcel, etc...) operations, process, and optimization
• 3+ experience in steering and implementing strategic initiatives
• 3+ years of experience of effectively prioritizing tasks and motivating others to execute
• 3+ years of experience of influencing large cross functional teams and executing changes and solutions
• Demonstrates ability to work in a matrix structure
Education:
• Bachelor's preferably in supply chain management, operations management, business, economics, engineering or closely related; highly desirable.

• Must be a strong change agent, problem solver, with skilled business acumen
• Understands key drivers of revenue and cost and applies in decision-making
• Strong analytical skills.
