Patient Support Tech
The Patient Support Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This is a dual position, including the job responsibilities of a Patient Care Technician and a Monitor Technician or a Unit Secretary.
If no experience/training in sterile technique; insertion and removal of urinary catheters, and IV reseal removal, a BayCare PCT Course and accompanying competencies must be completed within 90 days of hire.

This job posting is for a Full Time, Day shift Patient Support Technician position at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa, FL.
Certifications and Licensures:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Patient Care Technician - if applicable
Education:
• High School or Equivalent
• Technical in the following Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse OR Reference Experience
Experience:
• 1 year of Skilled Nursing Facility/Rehab Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant OR 6 months of hospital Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant
• OR in lieu of experience may have completed approved CNA school (with clinicals) OR Nursing Student with completion of Nursing Fundamentals; OR EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only.
