Job Description
The Florida State Fair Authority is seeking an experienced Custodian to join our Event Services Team and ensure the proper maintenance and facility upkeep of the Florida State Fairgrounds.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Proper maintenance of offices and restrooms through the Florida State Fairgrounds.
• Support a clean and orderly environment by emptying trash containers, picking up trash, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping.
• Ensure a high level of compliance to safety policies and department protocols are followed and enforced.
• Read and interpret work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments, materials, or equipment needs.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent/GED.
SKILLS:
• Ability to take direction from management and clients as well as work as part of a team in a production situation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must maintain a polished appearance during events while working with the public.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays and must be available on short notice.
EXPERIENCE: Customer service experience required. Prior custodial experience highly preferred.  Knowledge of handling cleaning chemicals safely. Valid Driver's License required and must meet company vehicle driving standards.
Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Operates standard cleaning equipment and will be exposed to chemicals included in cleaning supplies.
Transportation: Must have reliable transportation. Driver's License is a plus.
