Key Responsibilities:
• Be involved and aware of all aspects of the day-to-day terminal operation.
• Perform activities related to unloading and/or transfer of bulk material or cement products from ships, railcars, trucks, buildings, or otherwise as needed, into railcars, silos or other storage containers or vessels.
• Assists with coordinating bulk loading activities with external personnel, customers, and drivers.
• Inspect railcars, bulk trucks, and other equipment prior to loading.
• Operate forklift, locomotive, loader, or car puller to move or position railcars in place for loading or unloading or to transfer railcars to switching tracks.
• Operate controls to convey proper cement product to railcar or build truck and closes hatches on railcars and seals.
• Ensure customer orders are filled accurately, promptly completing both shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Addresses customer concerns and refers more complex problems to supervisor for resolution.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs are executed on terminal equipment and activities are logged.
• Perform housekeeping of the facility.
• Follows all safety policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma/GED.
• Previous experience in cement or related industry is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to follow safe working practices.
• Willing and capable of working extended hours if needed.
• Capable of accessing heights – top of railcards, stairways to silo top elevations, etc.
• Capable of lifting to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Clerical and PLC experience is preferred.
