We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our robust Finance and Accounting team, based in Tampa, FL. This individual will bring their specialized knowledge to our team as we grow and diversify across asset classes, industries, and geographies. Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Accounting and compliance for multiple funds/portfolio companies Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable processes including entering daily invoices/bills/journal entries/weekly check runs/monthly accruals and special projects for several portfolio companies Reconcile all bank accounts Prepare customer invoices as needed Research and resolve invoice discrepancies Evaluate workflow processes and procedures to develop, recommend and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy and efficiencies Ensure vendor invoices and check requests are paid in accordance with authorization and approval policies and follow up on invoices not approved Analyze expenses to evaluate cost cutting opportunities to drive value to the portfolio companies Review aging reports and follow up with Customers regarding overdue balances Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting as well as assist with yearly public audits Create, plan and prepare financial models and other ad hoc reporting as required, including but not limited to, grant/contract reporting of budget versus actual, backlog, and labor utilization Assist in applying for available R and other Federal and State Tax Credit opportunities Responsible for researching, registering and compliance for all state and local tax requirements Research nexus requirements, compile sales tax/use tax information, and prepare tax returns as necessary Assist in creating budgets and preparing ongoing forecasts Analyze financial data and generate monthly trend reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial statement accuracy Oversee fixed asset tracking and reconciliations including monthly depreciation and asset tagging Training others as needed Other additional duties as assigned Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Minimum 3-5 years' experience in for-profit GAAP accounting Solid accounting/technical skills and working knowledge of GAAP Advanced excel skills Experience with Government contracts and/or manufacturing/inventory a plus Experience handling multi-location, multi-state, and multi-currency companies a plus Exposure to US GAAP ASC 606 compliance a plus
