The Senior Applications Analyst/Supervisor's role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise activities and staff related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications. The Senior Applications Analyst/Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. This individual will apply proven customer service standards, communication skills, problem-solving skills, adherence to security and privacy guidelines, and knowledge of best practices to guide the development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Apply thorough knowledge of data practices, methods, principles, and techniques used in the applications and operation of a healthcare organization.Develop and assign goals, provide leadership and coaching, assign tasks, and oversee the activities and projects of the development team.Maintain and apply wide knowledge of business intelligence, data integration, data warehousing, modeling, database, and technical aspects of business intelligence tools such as Power BI.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory environment and reporting requirements.Apply knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and appropriate controls to ensure security and confidentiality of data and information systems.Understand application and database languages, database performance, application development, and how each interacts with server architecture. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL database environments.Knowledge in two or more major areas of applications languages in order to conceive, modify, plan, and develop the organization's application requirements.Strong understanding of SharePoint environments, as well as related Microsoft applications.Knowledge and experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS.Skill in expressing or translating technical information into non-technical terms and vice versa.Knowledge of product management concepts and how enterprise software products are positioned and developed.Manage projects including maintaining project schedules, assigning and managing resources, and providing solutions to ensure project activity is in accordance with project plan and standards.Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.Interpersonal and leadership skills to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders, such as users, management, and developers.Advanced writing skills to communicate information effectively to and from users, managers, and technical staff.Assist in recommending and establishing organization policies and procedures.Develop and manage technical documentation as needed.Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.Perform other duties as assigned.Job Specifications:Bachelor's degree in related technical or engineering discipline.Three to four years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Prior life sciences and/or healthcare information systems experience preferred.
