Company Overview: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Junior Web Developer with experience in Drupal, website/webpage editing with html and JavaScript to help with weekly updates for its website and electronic newsletter. Ideally the workload would be 16 hours a week to be able to help the Communications Team at the beginning and end of the week. Normal workdays would be Monday and Friday, though could be flexible and do Tuesday and Friday, or Monday and Thursday for the right candidate. Role would be fully remote unless otherwise needed for meetings.Position Overview: The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 0-2 years of experience as a Web Developer. JOB SPECIFIC COMPENTENCIES•Experience with Drupal•Experience with website and webpage editing with html and JavaScript•Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.•Ability to carry out editing tasks with accuracy in a short time frame.•Skill in communication and effective writing.•Ability to handle restricted, sensitive and confidential information.•Strong customer service background required.Requirements•Proven working experience in web programming•Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS•Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript or Ruby on Rails•A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices•Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming, and web application development•Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools•Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process•Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills•Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen•Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.•BS in computer science or a related field
