Job Summary
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist conducts assessments on nutritional status and manages the nutritional care process of patients at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in a timely cost-effective manner. Serves as a “nutrition resource” to medical units, interdisciplinary team, and ambulatory care environment. Performs computer-related activities as required and executes job requirements in accordance with the mission, vision, and values established by TGH. Reports to the Assistant Director of Clinical Nutrition and Patient Services.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics from an institution with an accredited program is required. Current license as a Dietitian by the Florida Department of Professional Regulation and registration by the American Dietetic Association’s Council for Dietetic Registration is required. Master's degree and/or certification in specialty area are preferred. Requires diplomacy and ability to interact with others, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Keeps abreast of new trends and developments in the area of nutrition and utilizes this knowledge in current practice. Proficiency with multiple software applications such as: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Cbord and/or Computrition.
