Physician Billing Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational success of the revenue cycle functions to ensure maximization of revenue and cash flow while maintaining the highest levels of customer relations.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education • Minimum of five (5) years of physician billing and collections experience • Minimum of one (1) year of Physician practice management/administration/supervisory experience • Strong management skills including motivating and mentoring people at all levels, training, establishing departmental policies and procedures and managing human resource issues of supervised staff • Ability to manage in a fast pace environment, remaining proactive, detailed oriented, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism • Strong customer service skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, ability to work with a team, critical thinking, organizational skills, and knowledge of regulatory requirements • Demonstrated expertise of physician third party billing and regulations • Working knowledge of state and federal billing regulations • Strong computer skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent analytical skills Competencies: • Satisfactorily complete competency requirements for this position. Model highest standards of conduct and ethical behavior, adopting a strong position against fraud and abuse. • Regulatory Compliance: Educate and monitor staff regarding their own and the organization's responsibilities for regulatory compliance. Job Responsibilities: • Manages the daily operations of the Physician Billing team including monitoring and revision of policy and procedure. • Establishes internal controls to ensure timely and accurate billing to third party payors. • Ensures that days in accounts receivable remain at or below Company standards in addition to monitoring daily cash flow. • Creates, implements, monitors and analyzes performance metrics. • Devises performance improvement plans when QA or productivity issues are identified. • Performs root cause analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and/or automation and implements new procedures. • Works jointly with Medical Services to ensure that front-end intake processes are established and followed. • Monitors upfront collections. • Assists with the execution of third party payor and/or governmental audits. • Performs other duties as assigned.
