Description:Job Title: Metropolitan Ministries Culinary Arts Program CoordinatorDepartment: Adult Education ServicesReports To: Adult Education SupervisorStatus: ExemptSalary: $38,500.0Job Functions: This position is the liaison between third party groups, such as Eckerd Connects, Abe Brown Ministries, etc., and both the Tampa & St. Petersburg Culinary Arts Programs, assisting in recruiting students, onboarding them to the Culinary Arts Program, and following up with their referring agency.Essential Responsibilities:Works with existing and potential referring agencies to promote the Culinary Arts Programs.Gives tours to potential students to promote the program, setting up interviews with the Culinary Arts Program Instructor for potential students.Attends outside promotional events (e.g. Chamber) in order to network on behalf of MM Culinary Arts Program.Provides onboarding and orientation for new Culinary Arts Program students.Works with Human Resources to provide new students with badges and clocking in/clocking out for time tracking.Follows up with referring agency in the event of attendance issues for the Culinary Arts Program.Refers students to Counseling team as necessary.Works with Case Management (Employment) team to schedule Culinary Arts Boot Camp.Meets personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of the team and organizational goals as stated on the Balanced Scorecard and in the annual plan. Supports the team in other tasks as assigned. Supports the Holiday Center, Bridge Builders Luncheon, and other fundraising events as directed.Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and work toward improving systems and processes.Plans daily, weekly, and monthly to meeting program recruitment goals.Keeps accurate records and reports for all areas of oversight.. Requirements:Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED completed; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; prior food service preparation experience preferred. Minimum three (3) years of food service/culinary/kitchen management/post-secondary education program recruitment, or other applicable experience.Skill Requirements: This position requires the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary framework. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, orally as well as in writing. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Must demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families. The position requires a degree of maturity, organization skills, compassion, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner. Requires the ability to supervise interns or volunteers. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, staff, and volunteers. Ability to clearly articulate the culinary program and to recruit qualified individuals into the culinary program. Ability to engage and coordinate stakeholders to support the culinary program and participants. Strong computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Physical Requirements: Must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and endure prolonged standing/walking/bending/stooping and stretching. Must be able to relocate materials in a safe and proper manner. Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability as to take part in and provide sound oral communication and information. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more.Other: Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Valid FL driver’s license with a good driving record and insured vehicle in order to transport self and orders when necessary.
