REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST – SENIOR DENTAL CAREWe’re looking for a full-time Registered Dental Hygienist who would enjoy working for a company that makes a difference in the geriatric population’s lives in communities across the nation.THE COMPANY:Founded in 1999, Senior Dental Care (SDC) has emerged as the leader in the delivery of integrated, on-site dental care to long-term care and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). In 2020, SDC acquired Senior Vision Services a leader in the delivery of on-site optometry care.THE LOCATION:The Registered Dental Hygienist position is located in Tampa, FL and surrounding areas.Some responsibilities include the following:Review patients lists prior to visit and make sure that all supplies/equipment are available at every stopArrive on time, check in with dental contact and review list of patients to be seenTransport, set-up and take down equipment and supplies in room designated as work space by facilityWork with contacts at nursing home to coordinate transfer of patients and their chart to and from the treatment room. If issues with transport of patients/charts and all options have been exhausted, call clinical coordinator for assistanceProvide needed instruments/supplies during treatment procedures as indicated by DDSExplain procedures as they are completed to patient. Follow up with staff at facility to review recommendations for patientEnter chart notes for treatment provided into Salesforce at the time of treatmentAssist DDS in ensuring that OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations are followed during patient treatmentEnsure that disposables are handled correctly before leaving facilitiesCheck out with dental contact at facility. Review chart notes/referrals. Leave printed copies of chart notes with facilities for patient chartsWork with clinical coordinator on schedule and follow up of patient care and treatmentMaintain dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance routinesInventory supplies and order as neededFollow regulated OSHA guidelines in handling and sterilization of instrumentsUtilize personal vehicle for equipment/supply transport and traveling to scheduled facility visits (will be reimbursed business mileage after commute adjustment)Ship and receive denture cases to and from lab on a weekly basis at minimumWHY SHOULD YOU APPLY?Ability to provide care to seniors in your communityA chance to give back and make a differenceREQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:Florida Registered Dental Hygienist License(s)Valid Driver’s License with no moving violations in the last 5 yearsCustomer Service Skills – Work with staff at nursing home to ensure that their dental needs are being metComputer Skills – Log chart notes at time of visitOrganization – Keep supplies and dentures organized. Keep daily schedule organized and updated with most recent schedule changesMulti-Tasker – Prioritize and address multiple demands concurrentlyCommunication – Communicate effectively with clinical coordinator, patient, responsible parties and facility staff as necessaryTeam Mindset – Work within a team for the good of the customerPositive Problem Solver – Think on your feet and find solutions to a variety of unique issuesOpen to continuous improvement of process and customer service experience2-3 years clinical experience as a Dental HygienistAbility to push/pull + or - 200lbs (ex. wheelchair)Willingness to travel within a two-hour radius from homeWe Offer Mileage Reimbursement and Hotel Fee ReimbursementCompensation: $35-$40/hr + bonus potentialBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, EAP, Etc.12 Paid holidays per year
