What you’ll be doing...
We are looking to hire a Program Manager within the Device Technology organization. This role will support the Sports Partnerships and Innovation team working with cross-functional teams such as Planning, Engineering, Operations, Product and many other functions within Verizon. Your top priority will be to manage the NFL Innovation Program which means you will lead a matrix team responsible for implementing cutting edge technology into NFL stadiums, evaluating ROI, and driving towards the commercialization process. To join this team, you will need to be highly organized, be able to communicate status at a VP & SVP level, and have demonstrated experience effectively navigating across multiple boundaries to execute common goals.
• Manage the NFL Innovation Program within Global Network & Technology (GN&T).
• Facilitate amongst the various stakeholder teams within the Networks organizations, Business units and other organizations to deploy new products to the market.
• Communicate and get signoff of functional and technical product specifications/requirements, including vendor management to facilitate the lock down of product release schedules between the various GN&T stakeholders.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders to align on priorities, status, and executive messaging.
• Coordinate internal and external meetings with extensive agendas, action plans, and strategic thinking to create meaningful outcomes.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience managing/working with large cross-functional teams.
• Experience working projects tied to network builds (wireless/wireline) and software development
• Program/Project Management experience.
• Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have:
• A Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience in product lifecycle management including formal stage gate processes in either the Consumer Products Org or the LBA program from the Verizon Business Products Org.
• Ability to quickly resolve complex problems and identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action to keep program schedules on track.
• Wireless background with experience in developing business models for new technology products.
• Experience with either networks or products in sports venues.
• Strong collaboration skills, excellent written and verbal communications to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues and risks to executive stakeholders.
• Experience in executive deck creation, delivery, and meeting planning logistics.
• Superior quantitative, problem-solving, technical and analytical skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a high-energy, dynamic, and sometimes unstructured environment.
• An enthusiasm for sports with an understanding of current and potential fan experiences.
• Experience managing the production of executive communication deliverables that require collaboration across multiple business units and leadership teams.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, G-Suite, smart sheets and other project tracking solutions.
• PMP Certification.
