Department OverviewCareComm is a high-tech "mission control" clinical command center which uses artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to improve and better coordinate patient care at a lower cost. It has been developed in partnership with GE Healthcare, and features 20 artificial intelligence apps, video walls with 38 large screens, 32 work stations, multiple computer systems, and a multi-disciplinary clinical team that includes doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. CareComm staff use these resources to predict the needs of patients and team members before they arise. With CareComm, Tampa General can anticipate potential roadblocks and issues in the care process, ensuring that rooms, equipment and medical professionals will be available for patients as soon as they're needed.Job SummaryUnder general supervision of the CareComm Operations manager and following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, provides notification and/or assures authorization has been obtained for services. Oversees appropriate scheduling of services. Communicates with physicians and/or designated staff.May communicate directly with insurance company prior to and/or at the time of service to ensure that all services that require pre-certification/ authorization have been financially cleared.Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention.Assures patient rights.Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.Qualifications Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Florida. Two (2) years' nursing practice.Call center and Insurance experience preferred.
