General Position Summary
The Project Accountant assists and supports the project team by maintaining accurate and complete accounting records.  The position works under direct supervision and gathers and distributes information.  The Project Accountant must be a team player and have strong organizational and accounting skills. This is an entry level position, with the possibility of future advancement.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
·         Processing of general payables
·         Data entry, including owner billings, subcontracts, change orders, purchase orders, and journal entries
·         Assist in reviewing and processing subcontractor applications of payment and general condition invoices for payment
·         Assist in preparation and submission of invoices for assigned project
·         Assist in accurate monthly reporting, including job cost reports, Project Status Report , and general condition forecasting
·         Assist in maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients
·         Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and Health Management Program

Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree desired or 2-4 years of accounting experience
General understanding of cost accounting
Authority
The Project Accountant derives his or her authority, and performs all duties with guidance, from the Director of Project Accounting.
Work Environment/Job Conditions
This job may be performed in the office or on the jobsite and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching.  Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.  He/she must be able to navigate the jobsite and must comply with all Company safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite.
