Job Description Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the mission to strengthen public education in Hillsborough County through advocacy, investment of resources, and programs that empower every student to achieve both academic and personal success.
The Resource Development Manager reports directly to the Chief Advancement Officer and supports the development department’s objectives and activities, while contributing to a culture of philanthropy. The position serves as a public representative of HEF and HCPS. This person is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding her/his portfolio, discovering new donors, and contributing to achieving the fundraising goals.

This position is able to work remotely 2 days or more a week upon completion of 90-day probationary period.
This is a full time, non-exempt position.
Responsibilities:
• Participate as a key member of the development team in planning fundraising strategies and developing policies and procedures for meeting the department’s objectives.
• Develop an annual work plan to achieve personal and team fundraising goals.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective and current individual and business donors.
• Cultivate relationships with granting organizations and serve as liaison to those organizations.
• Develop portfolio of new individual donors and business partners.
• Discover appropriate potential sources of funding that are aligned with the strategic business goals of the Foundation.
• Manage calendar, track and record contacts and activities in Raiser’s Edge.
• Ensure communications are appropriate and consistent by developing and preparing solicitation materials, well-written proposals, gift agreements, and accurate case statements, in conjunction with the development coordinator and Chief Advancement Officer.
• Prepare grant reports in collaboration with the other departments. Maintain grant tracking spreadsheet.
• Ensure all grant deliverables are properly executed in a timely manner.
• Serve on designated committees.
• Attend all HEF events as assigned. Events can be early morning, evening, or weekends.
• Participate in professional organizations and local networking opportunities to facilitate professional development.
• Assess industry trends, stay abreast of current industry data, and maintain knowledge of granting organizations aligned with the mission of the organization, and HCPS.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3 or more years of fundraising experience preferred
• Proposal and grant writing experience preferred.
• Experience raising and stewarding five to six figure planned gifts preferred.
• Must have dependable transportation and ability to travel to events, which may be in the early morning, evening or on the weekend.
• CFRE designation preferred.
• No criminal history and must be able to pass a background check.
