W e are seeking a Leader focused on Data Science and Digital Health in Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) to join the Janssen Research and Development Data Science team! The primary location for this position is flexible and remote may also be considered with up to 10% travel.
The Director, Data Science & Digital Health - Pulmonary Hypertension (JRD DS) will envision and lead impactful data science and digital health solutions to transform drug development and patient care for the rare disease, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. You will be part of our innovative, cross-functional team of program leaders, data scientists, and neuroscientists at Janssen, and a key collaborator with top external partners in academia and industry. This role will drive the development and execution of data science and digital health strategies for clinical stage programs that will integrate molecular, digital, and real-world data. The person in this role contributes to the multi-disciplinary team with core expertise in the development of digital solutions as clinical trial endpoints or as early detection tools/diagnostics. Your work will be tightly coupled with the early and late development programs in the Pulmonary Hypertension Therapeutic Area.
Job Responsibilities:
• As part of the Janssen R&D Data Science team, you will lead the Data Science strategy for key PH programs, working closely with the rest of the JRD Data Science Team to integrate expertise across a range of capabilities aligned to the development of specific compounds and SaMDs; providing expertise in SaMD development, workflow integration, and deployment, as well as digital measurement and wearable technology.
• You will coordinate Data Science and Digital Health resources, and partner with PH Therapeutic Area scientists and clinicians to set strategy, timelines, and deliverables for products/compounds in our portfolio.
• You will conceive, develop and execute Data Science and Digital health programs, building a road map to deliver, test, and learn to scale up deployment in support of Janssen clinical and algorithm development trials.
• You will execute on critical initiatives to support the delivery of both the short-term portfolio and long-term Janssen R&D PH Strategy.
• You will develop a deep understanding of the data and partner ecosystem, and align R&D data science PH use cases with key data sets, technologies, and partners (internal and external).
• You will remain current on the constantly evolving landscape of cardiovascular, pulmonary vascular, and digital health in search of the best strategies for prioritizing and executing our portfolio based on scientific insights.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Education: PhD in physical, computational, or life sciences with 5-7 years of progressive experience in applying data science and digital health in healthcare.
• Extensive background working hands-on deriving insights from digital devices and wearable sensor data, for example, speech, video, or actigraphy. A background in cardiovascular or pulmonary therapeutic areas and computer vision is preferred.
• Familiarity with drug discovery and clinical development processes.
• Internationally recognized track record of scientific contributions in this field with first author publications in high-impact journals.
• Ability to translate data into information, and strategies into executable action plans.
• Known for driving towards novel solutions to problems (often sought after for strategic advice.)
• Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams including clinicians and scientists.
• Up to 10% yearly travel is required (International, Domestic).
