Corporate Finance Practice Assistant
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients.
We are currently searching for a Corporate Finance Practice Assistant for our Tampa office.
The Firm is currently on a hybrid work schedule . Employees will be asked to report to the office 3 days per week and have the ability to work from home 2 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work in collaboration within a group and individually to ensure that clients are satisfied, includes the desire to understand client concerns and build trust.
· Outstanding organizational and communications skills with substantial experience in hardcopy and electronic file and records maintenance.
· Good writing skills a must.
· Ability to manage busy calendars, transaction and deadline monitoring.
· Experience with transaction document assembly, including organization of various document versions.
· Experience working in a mid to large size firm and collaborating with various firm-wide departments in the handling of various responsibilities, including new client file opening, conflicts checks, billing, training, records, etc.
· Effective oral and written communication skills needed to draft, format and proofread correspondence and other legal documents.
· Experience tracking firm, attorney, and client expenses and using an application software to process reimbursements and payments.
· Working knowledge of the processes frequently associated with corporate and transactional practices.
Required Education/Experience:
· Must have a minimum of five years of law firm administrative experience, preferably as a legal assistant
· Knowledge of corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and/or debt financing preferred but not required.
· Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through required
· Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and time constraints
· Ability to effectively balance assignments and workflow from multiple attorneys
· Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, NetDocs and other computer and word processing systems
