Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Youth Partner position will provide engagement, support, guidance, mentoring, advocacy and empowerment to the youth assigned to their caseload. They will serve on a team of child welfare professionals that includes Case Managers and Permanency Specialists. The primary goal is to successfully engage and connect with adolescents who historically struggle to engage in their own treatment. The Youth Partner will help the adolescents find their voice and exercise their choice throughout their time in custody. The Youth Partner will also be a key responder for adolescents experiencing a crisis during scheduled work hours and as a part of an on-call rotation.
The population served will be adolescents, many of which have experienced significant trauma and multiple family displacements and disruptions in their young lives. The Youth Partner will carry a caseload on average of 17 youth, which will allow them to work intensively with each case to ensure successful outcomes.
Youth Partners must have reliable transportation as they will be expected to assist with providing transportation for adolescents assigned to Thompson’s Teen Case Management Unit as needed. (Mileage will be reimbursed.)

• Ability to be non-reactive in the midst of high stress, crisis situations
• Trauma informed philosophy and congruent behaviors
• Experience and ability to work with adults and children from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic environments
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Prior professional experience with child welfare preferred.
• Personal lived experience preferred.
• A valid driver’s license, at least 3 years of driving with a driver’s license and clean driving record are required. All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
Salary range – $30,000-$35,000
Thompson Child & Family Focus prefers proof of a COVID-19 vaccination as a part of the background screening and credentialing process for applicants.
