ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
USF Information Technology (USF IT) provides technology services and support for the University of South Florida. The IT team, led by the Vice President and CIO, provides the following services: Administrative Services, Client Support, Communication Services, Teaching and Learning, Analytics and Reporting, Mobile and Web Services, Consulting Services, Cybersecurity Service and Research Technologies.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The System Administrator I is responsible for supporting the administration of enterprise wide software applications.  These include but are not limited to web, ecommerce, mobile and emergency communication, and project management  technologies for the University of South Florida.  Primarily, this position will support the Atlassian product suite.
In providing support and administration, this position carefully documents and provides ongoing status reporting for both in-house and vendor supplied software applications.
Activities associated with the position also include extensive communication with other IT team members and clients regarding operational status of the systems and applications covered by IT Application and Web Services, as well as selected Agile Release Train-associated teams as assigned.
Serves as a member of tier 2 operations/support units for Application Web Services , as well as selected Agile Release Train-associated teams as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application Administration:  Configuration of application system software on IT production and development platforms.  As instructed by the Product Owner(s) in Application and Web Services or Agile Release Train teams as assigned.  These applications include but are not limited to:  project management and workflow applications, eCommerce, SharePoint team sites, mobile apps, and other university operations applications.
Coordinate administration and support activities with other IT units as needed for these activities.
Provide ongoing technical support:  Coordinate and provide day-to-day support and assistance for the IT division in the operation of production systems and applications under control of the Application and Web Services team or Agile Release Train teams as assigned.
Monitor operations which maximize the effective control and administration of production systems and roll-out of new technologies.  Contribute to detailed internal and functional documentation in the operation of and problem resolution for the production environments installed.
Policy and Procedure implementation:  Recommends and drafts or participates in the drafting of information technology and user support policies and procedures for IT Application and Web Services or Agile Release Train teams as assigned.  Coordinates with central IT Service Desk unit as needed.
Data Security:  Monitors data security for IT Application and Web Services or Agile Release Train teams as assigned. Administer and secure confidential USF data according to security policy directives (i.e. PCI compliance, FIRPA, etc).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and one year of IT related work experience, OR a combination of 5 years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related training.
