Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiology Section Leader and Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs radiographic procedures according to protocols established for various age groups of patients, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. A Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a wide variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.  Assesses the age-specific needs of the patients.  Acquires data to input into the nuclear computers, maintains department computers, and performs all scans set forth in the department procedure manual. With a Nuclear Medicine Technologist supervision responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of TGH .
Required Skills
Completion of a 2-year training program in Nuclear Medicine from an AMA-approved school. Must be licensed by the State of Florida in Nuclear Medicine Technology, and carry a national registry such as the Nuclear Medicine Certification Board and/or the ARRT. Current CPR certification. Florida Licensure or will have 90 days to become licensed to practice as Radiologic Technologist by the State of Florida. Will not be able to perform exams prior to evidence of licensure.
