The Cardiology department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Tampa office (near USF). Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM. The role is responsible for assisting providers and manages clinical functions in the department. Candidates with experience in a medical office highly preferred, especially in Cardiology. Must be able to multi-task and work in a very high volume, fast pace environment.  Able to perform vitals, EKG's and room patients in a efficient manner. Minimum of one year experience required.  Must know medical terminology.

Keys to Success in this Role:
• Complete the start of day processes
• Properly room patients
• Assist provider during examinations, procedures, and with treatment
• Perform diagnostic studies and treatments
• Clean and sterilize instruments and medical equipment
• Process medication requests
• Handle patient calls
• Organize and maintain sample and supply closets
• Perform incidental duties as needed
Job Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
• Strong team player
• Strong customer service orientation
• Team player
• Minimum 1 year experience
• Basic computer proficiency
• Cardiology experience highly preferred
Physical and Mental Demands:
• Physical requirements
• Able to stand or walk for long periods
• Use of proper body mechanics
• Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
• Experience in fast pace, high volume office setting
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Occupational Exposure:
• High risk exposure to blood borne pathogens and chemical hazards
