Front End Engineer
Contract length: 8 months with possibility of extension/conversion.
Locations: Tampa, FL (remote and onsite)
Duties
• Working with product owners, business partners, and other developers to create designs for new and existing features
• Work on product enhancements to new and existing functionality
• Review code from other developers
• Help drive architecture designs for the product
• Deploy and test code in our build environment
• Participate in release planning and execution
Qualifications
• Design: color theory, light and shadows, typography, composition, layout
• HTML: semantics, advanced forms, accessibility, typography, tricks
• CSS: layout, flexbox, animations, accessibility, white labeling, typography
• SCSS: CSS scoping, pros and cons of BEM, OOCSS. Experience with Grunt, Gulp and/or Webpack mangling SCSS compilation and transpilation. Variables and inheritance strategies.
• ES6: mutating versus non-mutating array methods. Sorting, filtering, arrow functions. Classical and functional programming. Advanced destructuring.
• Javascript: query selectors, native DOM traversal, history, local storage
• React: markdown, styleguide, prop types. portals, children. Internal versus external state. Component composition, HOC, router, error boundaries, hooks.
• Other skills: Webpack, Redux, Gulp, NPM, Git, Jenkins, Node, SVG
• Excellent communication skills
• Works great in a team environment
• Able to solicit or question requirements, when necessary
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Higher, in a software related fields (such as Computer Science or Software Engineering
