Position Summary*
This role assists the Human Resources Business Partner and Human Resource Manager with recruiting and retention, employee recognition programs, performance management, succession planning, and leave management policies.
The HR Generalist supports Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The HR Generalist provides advice, assistance, and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation as well as coordinating the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.

Essential Functions Include: *
• Talent Acquisition - Responsible for Full Cycle Recruiting by developing recruiting sources (social media, job boards, college recruiting, etc.), screening resumes, interviewing applicants, performing behavioral assessment, background checks, and extending offers and oversee New Employee Orientation (NEO) experience in partnership with the Professional Development Team. Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations and prepares managers for the interview process. Manages current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system.
• Payroll - Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll and the supplemental monthly incentives for the respective departments. Prepares the monthly incentive payroll budget analysis ensuring all employees are classified in their proper departments for the accounting team. Validates and exports payroll from time management system and imports into payroll. Resolves payroll discrepancies and irregularities when needed. Responsible for any payroll systems maintenance. Maintains employee leave balances, benefit payroll deductions, and garnishments. Complies with local, state and federal payroll regulations and respond to questions and special requests from regulatory agencies.
• Benefits Administration - Administer the 401k Plan, monitoring changes, loans, distributions, and rollovers. Monitor and coordinate short-term and long-term disability application and process, and COBRA process.
• Employee Engagement - Develop, coordinate, and manage employee charity events, peer to peer and leadership to peer employee recognition programs. Create, manage and administer the monthly employee newsletter. Work in collaboration with the organization’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee to increase engagement and perpetuate change.
• HR * Reporting*- Administer HRIS systems to support and maintain employee data. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and organization. Tracks completion of annual employee acknowledgment forms to confirm compliance with Credit Union policies. This will require working with HRIS system to create reports, which will be distributed and used to update Human Resources Scorecard and other essential reporting spreadsheets.

• Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.

Required Education and Experience: *
• A Bachelor’s degree obtained through a formal 4-year program at an accredited education facility preferred, or equivalent experience.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred.
• Prior Payroll Experience is a must.
• 1-3 years related experience in Human Resources.
• Knowledge of principles and practices in Human Resource Administration, as well as Federal, State, and local labor laws is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook. Excellent technical aptitude.
• Must demonstrate functions knowledge of secondary guidelines, CFPB lending requirements, the Bank Secrecy Act and other Federal laws.
