Occupational Health Specialist - Industrial Hygiene Services
Job Summary
According to hospital policy and professional guidelines, designs and implements controls during hospital renovation and construction. Inspects and evaluates work operations, construction/maintenance methods, and engineering controls to determine potential risks to patients, healthcare providers, or visitors at TGH and intervenes to mitigate such risks as appropriate. Assists with compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and guidelines in relation to healthcare worker and environmental safety. Responsible for the Infection Control Risk Assessment process to include planning for renovation and construction, monitoring projects on a routine basis to ensure adherence to the ICRA as well as training of TGH staff and contractors as needed on ICRA processes. Consults with management, industrial engineers, employee representatives, and other agencies regarding industrial health problems and solutions. Participates in follow-up investigations to ensure corrective measures are carried out where required.
Baccalaureate degree with two (2) years of directly related work experience in Industrial Hygiene or environmental health and safety.
Preferred:
CHSP- Certified Healthcare Safety Professional
OHST-occupational health and safety technologist
CHC- Certified Healthcare Constructor Industrial Hygiene experience
OSHA 30 Hour Certification Proficiency in Microsoft Office
