Job Description
An industry leading Environmental Consulting company is looking for a Field Chemist.
Job Summary :
The Field Chemist is responsible for servicing clients at various locations. Duties include operations of Class B or A vehicle with overnight trips. Knowledgeable and proficient in DOT HazMat and EPA RCRA regulations. Meeting scheduled times for service and working directly with clients. Proper loading and securement of load for shipment.
Responsibilities and Duties :
• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all federal regulations
• Waste characterization, segregation and packaging (Lab Packing)
• Waste accumulation point audit/inspection and record keeping
• Work with vendors, TSDF, approvals/pricing of waste materials
• Waste collection and transfer within facilities
• Container marking, labeling and loading/offloading of vehicle
• Preparation of waste and transportation documents for shipment to treatment and disposal facilities
• Customer service on assigned clients
• Timely preparation of excel spreadsheets reports
• Maintain all required training as current.
Qualifications/Skills :
• Commercial Driver's license Class A/B with HazMat endorsement
• Minimum: BS Degreed science curriculum (Chemistry, Environmental, Biology or other with General and Organic Chemistry)
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Accurate recordkeeping
• Able to stand and walk for long periods
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to wear PPE for long periods of time (Tyvek suits, masks, goggles, face shields, Respirators & Non-latex Gloves)
