Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 annually
Organizational Summary:
Student Health Services (SHS) is a primary care medical clinic for USF students. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses provide medical evaluation and care by appointment. Specialty services include, sexual health & gynecology, dermatology, behavioral health, sports medicine, travel medicine and antigen clinic. Lab services are available on site. We also assist students with immunization and insurance compliance, and administer the student health insurance plan.
Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to organize, supervise and establish protocols and procedures for nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists and staff assistants at all clinical sites of SHS (Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota-Manatee and CAMLS).
DUTIES:
• Hires, orients, trains and evaluates nursing personnel for all Student Health Services clinical sites on the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota Manatee Campuses and at CAMLS.. Establishes job descriptions and nursing performance standards ensuring that nursing personnel function within the scope of their professional licenses/certifications. Provides supervision, consultation and guidance to clinical nursing and laboratory staff members. Develops and maintains a system for documentation of skills and competencies. Provides opportunities for professional development for nursing staff at least 2 times a year. Meets regularly with clinic nursing team.
• Responsible for the daily operations of Student Health Services clinical sites on the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota Manatee Campuses and at CAMLS. Develops and implements policies and procedures for daily operations in accordance with operational standards of Student Health Services and AAAHC accrediting agency. Monitors workflow. Meets regularly with medical director and business operations to discuss progress and future courses of action.
• Establishes and maintains standard operating procedures for receiving medical supples and drugs to ensure the integrity of handling and storage are in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Establish and maintains an inventory system to ensure adequate levels of supplies and equipment Establishes and administers a maintenance program for all office and medical equipment for timely repairs and proper functioning.
• Responsible for education and implementation of infection control policies and procedures for all SHS clinical sites.
• Participates on SHS administrative committees to include: Executive Committee and Quality committee Communicates with patients and their familes and/or physician as requested or needed Implements initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, safety and infection control.
• Essential Personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of four years related exempt experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Nursing, 5 Years experience as a Registered Nurse in a primary care setting/College Health experience, 3 years experience as a nurse manager, Good Communications skills, BLS and ACLS certified. Leadership training, phlebotomy skills, Intravenous line placement skills.
