Role and Responsibilities
Associate Director in Retail Banking Practice possesses considerable expertise in two or more business areas of Consumer Banking (Deposits, Payments, Lending).  In addition, the candidate is expected to be in leadership roles in selling and delivering Digital banking solutions in one or more of either Analytics, Customer Experience, Process Digitization and/or Digital Banking Platforms.
Associate Director Consulting has both delivery and practice development responsibilities. He / she is expected to spend most of their time shaping and leading business transformation programs to address strategic business challenges and deliver the highest quality work to our clients.  The remainder of his/her time will be spent identifying and working with leadership to pursue business opportunities to provide value to clients within the Banking and Financial Services industry.
• Lead business solution consulting engagements, including third party product implementation consulting engagement delivering billable client work, in the capacity of an engagement manager (with principal/ partner oversight).
• Lead requirements gathering, perform solution architecting, outline use cases and functional specifications for client to help them solve their most complex business and technology issues
• Partner with senior client stakeholders for requirements gathering, gap analysis and functional solution work-sessions.
• Provide project leadership and direction on one or more projects while maintaining a high quality level of service.  Ensure quality on all deliverables.
• Develop and manage client relationships on projects, manage delivery dates, resourcing and schedules. Facilitate project execution by providing support in project-level issue resolution and management of scope
• Help build, lead, and develop team of onshore/offshore consultants
• Identify and pursue up-sell opportunities
• Contribute to business development through activities such as pre-sales client presentations, research, and writing proposal, RFP responses and SOWs
• Have the ability to position industry insights as they pertain to client needs & requirements
• Deeply understand their client’s business challenges, and provide thought leadership in addressing these issues
• Work proactively to bring the best of Cognizant expertise to their client(s)
Required Skills and Qualifications :
• Master’s level degree in Business/Management highly preferred
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services  in a consulting or industry practitioner role involving client interaction, identifying client's priority needs for service and support
• Strong understanding of the Consumer banking industry, challenges and opportunities
• Strong understanding of various functions of Consumer Banking
• Product Implementation understanding of leading Banking solutions is desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience making presentations to clients, executives and technical team
• Strong experience in client relationship management and pre-sales support, building deep client relationships and identifying client's priority needs for service and support
• Practical experience in capturing client requirements, mapping processes, creating use cases, conducting hypotheses based analysis, creating business cases, evaluating and presenting solutions
• The ability to manage teams of consultants and work with cross functional and client facing teams within an on/off-shore model.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience making presentations to clients, executives and technical team.
• Experience in project management activities: project plans and estimates, scoping and requirements through implementation, including ensuring delivery of quality outcomes within timelines and budgets
• Proven ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities
• Ability to travel as needed
