Resident Services Coordinator
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The primary function of the Resident Services Coordinator Floating Supervisor is to effectively oversee the on-site Resident Services Coordinators to assist residents that have requested support in enhancing the quality of their daily lives. This may include working with residents to more fully and successfully participate in social, educational and/or economic sectors. The Resident Services Coordinator provides residents with information about and access to local services and resources that can assist them in pursuing opportunities and achieving life objectives. The Resident Services Coordinator is an integral part of the housing and property team and plays a critical role in the overall positive maintenance of the property for the enjoyment of its residents and the respect of its neighbors.  The Resident Services Coordinator Floating Supervisor would also be responsible for interviewing, training and mentoring members of the on-site team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1.    Welcome new residents (and establish contact with existing residents) and explain the resident services program, its offerings, and the RSC role in providing information and support in assisting residents interested in accessing local service resources.
2.    Help set a tone of inclusion and non-discrimination in the resident community.
3.    Identify, assess, select, develop and maintain referral partnership relationships with local service resource agencies that effectively assist residents to achieve their opportunities and objectives in life.
4.    Provide supportive linkages between residents and referral agency staff when residents or agencies request assistance. Document these efforts.
5.    Refer lease violations to the Property Manager and work with the property management team when a resident is identified as being in jeopardy of eviction. Offer linkages and referral support to the resident to positively and quickly rectify the situation. Document these efforts.
6.    Establish resident services program targets. Consistently track and measure program target progress. Regularly report program outcomes to both internal and external stakeholders. Analyze and utilize outcomes data as the basis for continuous program improvement.
7.    Identify and assess individual and family needs when appropriate; inform the resident of available resources and provide support in accessing services successfully. Document these efforts. Intakes
8.    Help to facilitate resident meetings and community-organizing and social activities
if desired by residents. Required and Non Required Resident Events
9.    Develop supportive professional relationships with residents that help them enhance the quality of their lives, empower them to develop life goals and encourage them in taking the steps to achieve self-sufficiency.
10.    When requested, work with property management in mediating conflicts between residents. Document these efforts.
11.    Ensure effective communication with residents, by newsletter, flyer, bulletin board etc., making sure that communication is inclusive of residents whose primary language isn't English and who, as a result, have limited English proficiency, and people with visual and cognitive impairments.
Non Essential Functions:
1.    Complete other housing and resident related assignments as directed by the Director of Compliance or Property Manager such as;
a.    Work with property manager on housekeeping/pest control issues, document, assist with locating/coordinating efforts with agencies.
b.    Ensure resident communication channels are updated weekly.
c.    Ensure up to date elevator inserts.
d.    Resident Birthday/Anniversary cards are created/distributed monthly.
Job Specifications:
1. Per HUD requirements, RSCs must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Counseling, or related specialty OR significant work experience relevant to the position. (Note: Master of Social Work may be required in situations in which RSC supervises social work students, interns, non-professionals or para-professionals.)
2.    Must possess knowledge of relevant state, federal and local resources and agencies.
3.    Must possess the ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple to moderately complicated verbal and/or written instructions to perform tasks assigned and to maintain records. Must possess basic arithmetical calculation skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, etc.) This level of proficiency is normally achieved through completion of a high school education or its equivalent.
4.    Must be able to effectively communicate with residents, staff, and other suppliers or vendors to ensure efficient operation of office activities
5.    Work with multiple deadlines, maintaining efficiency and control over projects assigned within time frames allowed and changing priorities.
Working Conditions:
Typical working environment is in an office setting on a multi-unit residential community, working with a personal computer at a desk and a telephone. May also involve greeting and taking prospective residents to vacant apartments in a multi-level apartment community. May be subject to outdoor weather conditions ranging from rain or snow to excessive heat during the seasonal months.
