Overview:
Performs a variety of clerical functions to support the Member Solutions Department.
Responsibilities:
• Distributes incoming daily mail to Member Solutions Department personnel. Processes department’s certified and return mail, and forwards incoming loan payments to appropriate department.
• Answers incoming telephone calls and e-mails. Assists caller or answers e-mail personally, or directs them to appropriate personnel.
• Prepares routine correspondence in connection with Member Solutions Accounts.
• Uses credit reporting and skip tracing services and software to obtain information to help in recovery of collateral and/or funds.
• Records and posts payments received to members’ accounts or General Ledger, as appropriate. Performs rights of offset on depository accounts and applies funds to delinquent and/or charged-off loans, within guidelines. Notes all activity on assigned accounts in Member Solutions software.
• Tracks deadlines for re-recording of judgments. Sends requests for re-recording and fees to appropriate courts.
• Compiles data and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as assigned.
• Reviews and approves invoices for the Member Solutions Department.
• Monitors Administrative work area to ensure it is kept in a neat and orderly fashion. Maintains inventory of office supplies, forms, and documents and re-orders as needed.
• Act at back up to Liquidation Administrative Associate and assists with those duties during times of heavy workload.
• Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. Completes annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years clerical experience. Previous experience in a collection environment preferred.
• Basic accounting skills in order to post payments to the General Ledger and members’ accounts.
• Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to resolve routine problems and situations.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to communicate routine information.
• Work is closely supervised.
