Advanced Surgery Center Tampa is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant (MA) will work under supervision with oversight from a registered nurse.  May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Director of Nursing.  Front and back office duties.
Assists medical providers-and maintains a clean and safe environment in accordance with the practice policies and procedure. Great communicator able to deal tactfully and professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians. Operates telephone system including receiving incoming calls, taking messages, identify nature of business and call.
Performs clerical duties including distribution of mail and messages, monitoring office supplies, and maintaining postage meter.
Assist with chart preparation.
Assist with Admissions. Check in pre-op patients. Copy identification and insurance. Communication with Pre-Op nursing staff.
Provide relief to Admitting, Office Assistant, and Scheduling as required
Qualifications :
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Communication skills: ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, and other employees of surgery center.
• Basic math skills.

Working environment is representative of the essential functions of the job. Physical demands require employee to sit and answer the phone for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.
Education: Graduate of an accredited CMA program preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year experience
