DUTIES:
The Program Assistant for the College Reach-Out Program (CROP) duties will include assisting with developing and implementing activities for the purpose of enhancing students’ academic performance and career development towards entering a postsecondary institution upon high school graduation.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Assist Program Director with development of academic programming to middle and high school students during school year and summer, including residential program, recruitment efforts and maintenance of students’ files with Recruiter.
• Assist with development of educational workshops related to college and career planning and students’ and parents’ orientations.
• Maintain data and assist with completing quarterly state and department reports related to CROP activities, contact with students and parents to encourage and promote CROP activities and attendance;
• Monitor program’s tutorial sessions and assist with planning of field trips and scheduling speakers.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor degree requirement for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree; Worked in educational middle and/or high school settings, residential camp environment, with low-socioeconomic, academically disadvantaged or special student populations.
