ACCOUNTANT - STAFF Business & Information Technology Hours: M-F days, flex option Day Shift - Full Time Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: NE N26 - 23.8500 - 29.9500
Position Highlights # Assists the Accounting Manager and Supervising Senior Accountant in the preparation/ maintenance of the General Ledger system to support accurate and timely financial data flows through the financial statement process.# Performs research and analysis of financial statement activity.# Handles high volume of transactions, prepares account reconciliations and has significant involvement in the monthly GL closing process.# Specific emphasis based on assigned area of the financial statements.# Provides support for the annual audit. The Ideal Candidate: Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills with ability to multi-task.# Detail and deadline oriented.# Strong documentation skills. Responsibilities: Assist the Supervising Senior Accountant in the monthly general ledger closing process by performing financial analysis for assigned income statement accounts.# Ensure journal entries are accurately completed in accordance with timeframes established with significant variances explained. Performs account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis per the timeframes indicated on the monthly closing calendar. Assist the Accounting Manager and Supervising Senior Accountant in preparation of the year-end and interim audits. Learn the Lawson financial systems, including G/L and A/P.# Be able to utilize these systems effectively to perform account analysis, system balancing and monthly processing. Continually challenges Accounting processes and recommends improvements to the Supervising Senior Accountant. Gather reports and/or data in preparation of month-end closing for specifically assigned areas with appropriately defined balancing procedures.# Perform other relevant duties as required and assigned. Credentials and Experience: Bachelor#s Degree Accounting or directly related field required. Minimum two years previous accounting experience.# Previous hospital experience preferred, but not required. Demonstrated competency of standard Microsoft applications (including Excel) and integrated accounting systems required (Lawson preferred).# Familiar with accounting procedures and GAAP.#
