UrgentVet Pet Clinic bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care, offering after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our 2-doctor practices offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia, and each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.

UrgentVet is seeking a Veterinary Technician with 3 + years of clinical experience for our UrgentVet Recruitment team. This position requires a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in hiring caregivers who are clinically proficient and committed to outstanding patient & client care.
This position will work in conjunction with the UrgentVet Hiring Manager, Expansion Managers, and Practice Managers to screen, interview, and on-board applicants for Veterinary Technician. The Technician Hiring Associate will interview candidates about their technical skills & experience and provide crucial input into candidate selection. They will also ensure that Veterinary Technician applicants have a thorough understanding of the culture and mission of UrgentVet. This position will receive mentorship and training in strategic recruitment practices.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Identify talent by utilizing resume database, directories, social media profiles, and various recruitment platforms.
• Utilize behavioral interviewing techniques, with a focus on clinically, professional, and cultural suitability.
• Effectively negotiate compensation while promoting entire opportunity, including education, development, and promotion opportunities.
• Serve as a point of contact with talent and promote a positive company image during and after the recruitment process, ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain and continue to build effective relationships with new hires, to ensure they are adjusting and are satisfied with the role and position within the company.
• Leverage business relationships for referrals.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with the UrgentVet internal team.
• Maintain the integrity of the data within the Applicant Tracking System, ensuring confidential protection of candidate data in compliance with governmental regulations, HR guidelines, and company policy.
• Propose and participate in best practices improvements in conjunction with company and departmental growth.
• Other job duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician.
• Prior experience interviewing, hiring, training, and mentoring, preferred.
• Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System, a plus.
• Experience maintaining a high volume of sensitive information and building scalable structure around data.
• Experience working independently; able to work in ambiguous environments and comfortable in an environment of rapid growth and change.
• Ability to pivot focus and priorities based upon the rapid growth environment of UrgentVet.
• Flexibility to work alternate hours or more than 40 hours to ensure staffing timelines and deadlines are achieved with high quality candidates.
